Nathaniel
Haney
At the age of nine, God spoke to Pastor Haney about the
ministry he would have. It was here that he began to
establish his relationship with God. Each evening at the
farm where he was raised, he would head back to the
creek, his "prayer closet" in an old hollow of trees. Here
he would commune with God. From that time to this, his life
as been characterized by his friendship with God. Since
entering full-time ministry, over twenty years ago, he has
served as a youth pastor, minister of prayer, a planter of
two churches which he pastored, an evangelist, a co-pastor,
and now as senior pastor of Christian Life Center.
As the
grandson of the Christian Life College founder, Clyde J.
Haney, he is the third generation pastor of the church and
director of Christian Life College.
He is also the Chancellor of Christian Life College as well
as an alumnus of the same. He is an author and a song
writer. He is married to Kimberly and together they have

husband and dad is one of the greatest accomplishments in my
life.”

and Theology of Prayer II. He also ministers in

David
Bratton
John
David Bratton is a true connoisseur of music. Born in
Vallejo, California, he attended St. Patrick's Catholic
High School. The youngest of three children, he followed
the strict rule of his parents, all children must take a
minimum of three years of piano lessons. David grew up
in the Baptist Church, and his mother always made sure
they went to Sunday school and listened to the preacher
every Sunday. When he was five years old, his pastor
told him, "Son, you are going to grow up to be a special
young man for the Lord." It is amazing how God works!
Music
constantly resonated throughout young David's life. It
was actually a part of the neighborhood ...down the
block from where David resided was a garage which was a
practice room for a number of well known bands of our
time. Among them were ConFunkShun, Larry Graham and
Graham Central Station and Sly and the Family Stone.
David as it were, would attend their practice sessions
and soak up as much knowledge as he could about the
business of making excellent music.
As a
freshman at Benedict College in S.C., David became the
first keyboardist for the Benedict College Gospel Choir,
which attracted so much attention he was in demand to
perform for most of the gospel favorites at that time:
The Winans, Fred Hammond and Commissioned, and The Five
Blind Boys. As a disc jockey on the popular Gospel
Highway Radio Show, he had the opportunity to interview
numerous gospel artists.
Upon
moving to New York City, popularity of his talent and
musical attributes heightened and he was soon playing
for other greats that included Edwin Hawkins, Tremaine
Hawkins, Thomas Whitfield, Hekeziah Walker and the Love
Fellowship Crusade Choir, Andre Crouch and Yolanda
Adams. He is regularly seen on the Bobby Jones Gospel
Show on Black Entertainment Television and appeared on
The Oprah Winfrey Show. He has accompanied popular pop
stars Roberta Flack and Pattie LaBelle. His Third CD
"Alive to Worship" recorded live in February, will soon
be released by his national recording group, Spirit of
Praise. The two previous CD's, "Give Him A Chance" and
the current "Autumn, Open Your Heart" were put together
to give the world a chance to be inspired by the Jesus
that the group has already come to know. There are so
many styles because of the various tastes of music the
Lord has inspired them to create.
Of the
many recent highlights of David Bratton & Spirit Of
Praise they have been in full concert at the World
Famous Apollo Theater of Harlem. David Bratton was also
given the tremendous opportunity as Minister of Music of
The Clergy Empowerment Association which hosted Bishop
T. D. Jakes at the New York Pastors and Leadership
Conference in May 2006.
David
Bratton and Spirit Of Praise just recently recorded a
television segment for Bobby Jones and the Word Network.
The response at the taping was overwhelming, and
definitely was a highlight of the Urban Impact Summit,
which was held at Foxwoods Resort in Connecticut. David
also teamed up with Tramaine Hawkins and Kurt Carr for a
tribute to Albertina Walker, which was amazing!
David is
writing a book, which will be aptly entitled "How to be
a Master Musician." He is married to his college
sweetheart, Valena Martinez-Bratton, and a father of
five musically inclined children.
One of
David's favorite scriptures is 3 John 2 which reads,
"Beloved, I wish above all that thou mayest prosper and
be in health, even as thy souls prospereth." David also
believes that some things only come through fasting and
prayer. His diligence in those very powerful areas of
his spiritual life have allowed God to take him all over
the world and has allowed him to simply enjoy the ride.
A pillar scripture for David is, "Seek ye first the
kingdom of God, and his righteousness".
